Summary: It’s December 23
A/N: This was supposed to be a start up to a christmas fic, but it just didn’t happen. I couldn't bring myself to delete it either, so I wrapped it up and I’ll leave it like this and post it, clearing 1 story out of my folder of “unfinished stories”
Scotty lets his fingers run through Kevin’s hair and he enjoys the feel of Kevin’s head on his chest, the curls tickle his skin, while warm breath and soft lips keep him in a state of feeling absolutely content with his situation. He gently tugs at one of the curls to make sure that Kevin’s still awake. His reward is a little kiss that tells him that Kevin hasn’t fallen asleep.
“I don’t think that there’s anything better than making love in front of a fire-place. So romantic. And I have to say that it adds that certain-something, that just turns me on.” Scotty’s low voice betrays his laziness.
“I suppose.” Kevin answers. Scotty tugs a little harder on the curl.
“Hey, what’s wrong?” He asks.
“Nothing.” Kevin answer, pulling his head away, before Scotty can get a hold on the next curl.
“Kevin-n-n-n.” Scotty warns.
“No, really, it’s nothing…. Just me being me… I’ll get over it….” But he sits up, breaking the lazy mood that they were both in. Scotty rolls to his side.
“What?” He asks.
“Nothing… Well, not really. This is perfect….”
“But?” Scotty insists on an answer. Kevin sighs.
“It’s almost Christmas…. And that is a time of being together, having fun, anticipating what gifts there will be, Christmas trees and pfeffernussen. I don’t know… I miss… I miss… the rest of my insane family.”
Scotty doesn’t say anything. This was exactly what he had been afraid of when he had rented this place. Kevin corrects himself:
“I know, what am I whining about? I’m here with the most beautiful and hottest man on this planet. We have a beautiful place, a place to make love, it’s cold outside, but warm inside. We have food, wine… I can see the advantages of not having kids around for a few days….” Kevin sums up the exact reasons why Scotty had wanted this place. Privacy, time for each other… And what did Kevin just say again about him being hot and beautiful?
He smiles lovingly at his husband.
“But you miss our kids and your family.”
“No! I like that I can sleep in. Kiss you wherever and whenever I want. I like that we can have sex here, right here in the middle of the room… but…”
Kevin shrugs, unable to put into words what is bothering him.
“I didn’t mean to keep you away from our kids, or your family, but I was fearing that we were losing each other again. We’ve been so busy and … I missed you…” Scotty’s voice is soft and vulnerable.
“I know.” Kevin says and he rolls over to kiss his husband. “I know why you did it and it’s alright.
“Are you sure?” Scotty asks, by now he’s feeling a bit insecure about it all.
“I’m sure.” Kevin smiles and he pulls Scotty’s head closer for a kiss.
