To give you a quick reminder of who is who. Matriarch Miranda, Patriarch Curtis, Lizzie (big belly, 5th child on the way), Ken (her MD hubby) and Donna (gayer than Kevin)
“We did it again!” Miranda chants ecstatic . Her husband looks at her.
“Yes, we did. And we will continue to do that.” He replies automatically, thinking how he would love to stick that trophy down his wife’s throat and just shut her up. She is always so competitive when it comes to the Walkers and he is so sick of it. He likes the Walkers and wishes his wife would act more normal around them, instead of being such a snob.
But he gives her his most supportive smile. A few more days and it will be Tuesday again. He can’t wait for his next little meeting with Halle. Pretty, blonde, only 19 years old, impressed with his money and the sweetest little thing between the sheets. Only a few more days. His thoughts get interrupted a Lizzie, her husband Ken and Donna come in.
“Oh, mom, it was great.” Purrs Lizzie, her belly round and hard from the tiring day. She should take it more slow, this 5th child is a real strain on her body, but she and her mom always had such special relationship. She has not told anyone yet, but this will be her last child. She tired of having children and being pregnant all the time, just because Miranda loves to show them around.
“Ken, I can’t imagine how it was possible for Tommy to do better than you at “Surgeon”..” Miranda’s critic is relentless on the subject since he last from Tommy and Ken throws back the rest of his drink, figuring he’d feel even better if he had another. Handling Miranda and her ideas on perfection can only be done in a drunken state of mind or at least bordering that.
Donna comes in with an angry look on her face, but she quickly wipes it away. She so had it with this family. She hadn’t really realized how superficial they were until her partner had pointed it out to her. And now she sees them the way her partner does. But she had to keep them befriended just a little longer, until they had enough money to move away and then…. Peace at last!
Miranda looks those around her. She glows with pride. There is so much love in this family. Honest and loving relationships. Not like poor Nora, a cheating husband, an illegitimate child… She shakes her head. That would never happen to her. Her relationship with Curtis is rock-solid. She knows her children like no other mother does. And it gives her a good feeling to know that she did better than Nora, not just with the game but with life in general……
