With a little over a day left to go, it seems like that one is gone for good. It's frustrating to think that all will be lost by tomorrow night. :(

Edited: I saw that there's an auction going on, but if I remember correctly you'll only buy the name, but not the contents, so unless I'm wrong, (the auction is on until tomorrow night 10pm - my time) it will all be gone.

Correction: If I understand the terms right, if Austin agreed to the auction, then perhaps there could still be something negotiated. Guess, we'll know more by the end of the week.

Still, it would suck if it all would be lost.

What do you mean exactly? I don't understand.

brothersandsisters-tv.com: the domain name expired on 07/13/2011 and was pending renewal or deletion. I see that there's an auction going on, but if I remember correctly you'll only buy the name, but not the contents, so unless I'm wrong, (the auction is on until tomorrow night 10pm - my time) it will all be gone.

I've made an edit and a correction, because of your post... But I'm still depressed.

Thanks for clarifying the situation. I had no idea there was a deadline to renew the name. If the name is gone, can't the boards run under a default name, a bit like Lj does? I'm not very Internet savvy but I thought with boards they always gave you a generic name and you could buy your own domain and get rid of the "provider" name. Is that clear? Maybe Austin can find a new one.

I haven't been there in a while, but I'm sorry to see it go. When I think of all the passionate conversations and heated debate over the DeWalkeing of Rebecca, the arrival of Ryan and such, it makes me smile. It seems so final so fast. I expected the boards to stay up a bit before it all went away. :(

I seriously don't know. These last 4 weeks I've tried to reach Austin and KC, in the hope to have at least SOME answer (also because I've been approached with questions by others) but I guess my emails never reached either of them or something.

I had hoped that the site would remain in the air for at least another year. With all it's wonderful content, it was such a 'bible' to B&S.

I can understand that Austin and KC were no longer interested in it, but there were plenty (me included) who were still passionate about this show. Not to mention those who will still discover this show.

And Austin promissed he would keep in the air as long as he could afford it (Or maybe he couldn't afford it for more than 1 month?).

Anyhow, I'm just sad that we weren't even given a chance to 'save' it. The previous years we could, but this year not even a remote opportunity.

It just leaves a bit of a bad taste, I guess. I know I have no claim or anything, but I felt a bit like the place was 'mine' too. Now, it's the question WHO will take it over and what it will mean to the site and the forum.

If someone buys the name, it stands to reason that their intention has nothing to do with brothers and sisters the TV show. They can do anything they want with it.

I don't know Austin nor KC but they could have replied to you. Dodging your emails and pretending they didn't see it is quite low, IMO. Then, it's possible they're on vacation. I guess that's the way people act these days, especially on the Internet. It blurs relationships. You can exchange thoughts and feelings with people for five years and see everything disappear overnight, without giving a warning and people a chance to exchange their emails to stay in touch. Again that's low. I'm not making things better, am I? I'm sorry. It's just my pessimistic side speaking.

Yeah I check it almost everytime I can get online. But it's always the same. I could understand if he couldn't afford it but why not ask the members like in the past. Im slightly ok overly sentimental and I feel like we've been punched in the gut again just like when ABC canceled the show. I'm sure that someone would have taken it over. As for contacting them I've tried to contact both before and neither of them would ever get back to me. It makes me really sad to see it go. It just makes things so much more real.

***...and neither of them would ever get back to me. ***

That makes me feel better. I was about to take it personal. ;)

Yes, I guess the feeling of being punched in the gut again describes my feelings very well. :)

Really hoping this site isn't lost. Damn if it is though. It was a great site.

I agree, it was a great site, so I hope it will somehow be resurrected. I still check everyday, but I'm getting less and less hopeful.

I'm very sad about all of this too. Austin should have asked for help or at least told us a week before it had closed in order to allow us to save pics and fics and to say a proper goodbye :(

Yes, I agree. 'm sad that it turned out the way it did. I keep hoping that one of these days I'll click on that link and I'll find it back where it used to be, but for the time being, I feel lied at and that is not a nice feeling.

I was just still confused that suddenly the deadline for the website was up, because I remembered from the posts that it was renewed last year in September/October. Unless I am living in a different universe or a different planet, a one year renewal meant it won't expire until Sep/Oct 2011. There could be a mistake. But only the site owner can negotiate with the webhoster. And it sadden me that Austin said he would keep it going (but he just went AWOL) and KC didn't reply to you neither. Isn't KC still running the LM online website? Did he say anything there at all? I know he probably can do anything because he's just the admin and I know he had problem contacting Austin before. It just hate it when things like this happen/ed.

No, I'm not sure exactly, but there was something that needed to be done in July (It happened before that the forum went off the air for a few days) and then it would be back and we had until September to raise $ 250 or something to keep the site in the air.

These last two years, the forum successfully managed to get the money together and I'm sure this year would have been the same. Which is why I feel bad. It was so unnecessary.

I don't know about KC. LMO hasn't been updated in a while either. I can guess that maybe RL is too busy for either KC or Austin. (Something I can relate to and that I'm hoping is just the case.)

I'll guess I'll just have to stick to the Beatles for now and "Let it be." ;)
