Kevin can smell Scotty’s aftershave, Scotty’s arm is around him and it feels heavenly to dance here with him. He presses a small kiss on Scotty’s cheek.
“I’m happy you forgave me.” He says softly.
“I’ve been miserable without you these last few days.” Scotty confesses, holding Kevin even closer and Kevin cannot resist. He pulls Scotty’s head closer to his and in spite of his aversion of public displays of affection he lets his lips brush against Scotty’s, before demanding a full kiss.
Justin nearly stops dancing, stunned that he sees Kevin kiss another man in public. Kevin is usually so discrete. Tyler follows Justin stare and smiles.
“They look great together.” She points out, drawing Justin’s attention back to her.
“D…does it bother you? That I have a gay brother?” Justin hasn’t told her, but she probably figured it out by now.
“No, it doesn’t. It’s fine with me.” She looks up to him with bright eyes.
“Good, ‘cause Kev’s important to me…. As is the rest of my weird family, but shhht, don’t tell them.” He grins close to her ear, she can’t help by giggle as they dance on.
Over Saul’s shoulder Nora can see Kevin and Scotty dance and for one moment she wishes that William could see the bright happiness on Kevin’s face… and her face clouds, for if William were here, Kevin wouldn’t be dancing with Scotty… And that brings her also to Holly. She sighs.
“I’ll try to be nicer to her.” She promises to Saul, because she wants to see Saul happy too. He merely smiles at her. Nora sees Justin with Tyler, she’s so beautiful and Nora hopes she’ll stay. She sees Tommy and Julia and hopes that Julia will be pregnant by Christmas. It would be so nice to have a new addition to the family. She sees Sarah close to Joe and she hopes that the problems on Sarah’s shoulders won’t become too much for them to handle.
Tommy can see Justin and Kevin, dancing with their partner and he holds Julia close.
“Maybe we can ask Kevin for help?” he wonders softly.
“Please, Tommy, I don’t want to think about it yet. I just found out. I need to get my head around it first. We will see what our options are. Alright?” Julia asks quietly. Tommy nods.
“I love you, Julia.” He says and he can see her reply ‘love you too’ although there’s no sound.
Sarah relaxes now that she’s dancing with Joe. Her mother knows the truth now.
“I love this.” She says. “This dancing to a song no one else can hear.” which is not entire true, because the music from inside, can be heard, be it very faint.
“Our own little music.” Joe’s voice is soft and low. Sarah looks at Justin and Tommy.
“I wonder if their music is as beautiful as ours is.” Her voice is equally soft.
“Shall I tell you a secret, Sarah Whedan? The music is always beautiful, even if the tune is a different one.” He replies pointing at Kevin and Scotty, dancing together on the terrace.
