About: Walkers and their satellites. Original Characters Alex Grodin and Max Carter are back!
Rate: from G to NC-17, This one is "R"
Disclaimer: The Brothers & Sisters and satellites may not belong to me, but Alex Grodin and Max Carter definitely are figments of MY own sick fantasy.
Summary: Just before Christmas, a prisoner escapes with unfinished business on his mind.
Extra: To completely understand the full impact of this story you should (have)(re)-read "Happy Now?" chapter 1 to 12
Extra EXTRA!!! I've situated this story in season 4, until 4.09, so it will contain ***spoilers*** for those who have not seen season 4.
Writer’s note: I hope that there isn’t really a village called Clean Water Springs, I invented the name, just to give it a name.

“So, what do you think? Have I said too much?” Chad smiles. After a relatively little flight and a considerable drive, Scotty has lost track of where they are. All he knows is, that this ranch belongs to Chad and that it is nicely situated in a small village called Clean Water Springs.

In all, they had gotten here late last night and Chad had immediately showed them their rooms to get some sleep and Kevin and Scotty had been too tired to protest. But after a good night sleep, they were more than happy to be shown around and Scotty is determined to relax and enjoy whatever Kevin has planned.

“No. This place is gorgeous.” Scotty replies, his eyes are bright with enthusiasm and Kevin cannot agree with him more. It is an old ranch with wooden interior, a big fireplace and its tasteful decoration. Scotty is impressed with the wonderful, modern family-kitchen but Kevin fell in love with the library and its many old books.

The master bedroom is old, but due to the fresh colors used, it’s a cozy place to be. And the look on their faces when they see the big Jacuzzi doesn’t go unnoticed by Chad either and Scotty is very excited about staying here for a while. The more he sees of it, the more comfortable he starts to feel.

Because the house is nearly 125 years old, Chad has spent a lot of money on making all the modernizations blend in with the old feel of the place, giving Kevin and Scotty the surreal feeling of walking onto the set of some old western and expect at any moment some cowboy to walk in and heat up his dinner in a microwave.

They have neighbors, but they are far enough away to give Kevin/Scotty some privacy, while at the same time, there’s no feeling of being in the middle of nowhere.
“I knew, you guys would like it.” Chad replies with a huge smile.
“I love it.” Kevin replies, more impressed that he thought he would be.

There’s a knock on the door and a woman enters with a big smile on her face.
“Aunt Alice!” Chad hugs her and then introduces her. “This is my aunt. If there’s anything you need, this is the person to turn to.”
“He exaggerates, but I do own the store in the village, there isn’t anything about this place I don’t know.”

Amused Kevin and Scotty watch her pinch Chad’s cheek with her big hand and call him a ‘sweet boy’, before she turns back to Scotty.
“I understand that you are the one responsible for the kitchen? … Come along, see what I brought and if there’s anything else you need.”

After Scotty disappears into the kitchen, Chad takes Kevin’s arm.
“Are you alright? Are you sure that this will be good enough? If not, all it takes is a few phone-calls. I can get you anywhere you want to go.”
“Thanks, Chad. But this is just fine. I think that, for the time being, we’ll be safe here.”

“Whatever you want. Just know if you need something, I’m only a phone-call away. I have a lot of family living here. My nephew is the deputy-sheriff here. I’ve asked him to keep an eye on you two and watch out for other strangers. It’s a small village where everyone knows each other. Shouldn’t be too difficult.”

Kevin can only repeat his thanks. With Scotty gone, Kevin can let down his guard a bit and Chad can see the concern on his face.
“How am I going to pull this off, Chad? I hate lying to Scotty and I’m scared for what might happen. He’ll be hurt when he finds out that I didn’t tell him. He’ll be terrified when I tell him the truth. I feel caught between two pretty bad situations.”

He rubs his arms as if he’s cold and Chad places his hands on either side of Kevin’s neck and then he uses his thumbs to make Kevin look up at him.

“Kev, do what you do best… love him. Just give the greatest performance of your life. Until you have a solid confirmation, from Max, that Alex is free, don’t tell Scotty anything. Yes, he’ll be hurt when he hears that you knew, but … Let him be happy for a little longer… There will be enough time for fear and worry if Max is right. Enjoy what time you have.”

He sees the worry on Kevin’s face and he lets his forehead rest against Kevin’s.
“You can do this, Kevin. If anyone can and will protect Scotty, it will be you.” Chad says with confidence. But Kevin isn’t too sure of this.
“But what if…” he starts, but Chad places a finger on his lips and shakes his head.

“You can and you will.” He says again and Kevin nods hesitantly. “Now, smile. I hear my aunt coming back, with Scotty I assume.” Chad quickly lets go of Kevin and places himself between Kevin and Scotty, by walking up to his aunt and thus giving Kevin some time to regroup himself.

“Was it any good?” He asks Scotty. “Or I’ll have her fired.”
“In your dreams, kid, in your dreams.” His aunt replies and by now Kevin joins them as well in their laughter. Scotty doesn’t fully understand the smile passing between Chad and Kevin, but he decides not to worry about it too much. This is going to be great!

Kitty is very glad that Evan is finally asleep. It’s bad enough, that the bad weather has given him a cold, but those long nights with little sleep are not good for him. Or for her and Robert. With the bottle still in her hands she passes Robert’s study. The door is almost closed, but not entirely. and without really eavesdropping she hears Robert mention Kevin.

“Yes, Max, I hope Kevin is safe where he is. Thanks for keeping me posted…. Does Scotty still buy the story that it’s a romantic getaway? … Good. The last thing we need now is Scotty worrying as well.” Kitty frowns. What on Earth is Robert talking about? Why shouldn’t Kevin be safe? What should Scotty have to worry about?

She steps closer to the door.
“I know…. For now, I will keep it from Kitty, but will you let me know as soon as you have more info? … Thank you.” Kitty can hear him hang up and quickly walks away in the direction of the kitchen, where she turns on her heels and pretends to just exit, when Robert steps out of his study.

“Hey… Everything alright?” She asks cheerful.
“Yes. Perfect.” Robert replies, but she can tell he’s lying. Something is wrong and it has to do with Kevin.
“Are you sure? I heard the name of my brother mentioned…. Not eavesdropping…” She lies in return.

Robert raises an eyebrow, momentarily concerned for what Kitty may have overheard.
“Let me do the worrying. It’s … you know, that business with Senator Wilkens… It’s just inconvenient that Kevin left now….”
“…Shouldn’t have let him go then..” Kitty remarks.

“In the knowledge that while I’m spending Christmas with my wife and child, he’s alone because his husband his working? What would it look like? No, I told Kevin to take time off and I wasn’t going to take it back over Wilkens.” Robert replies. Kitty nods, but is not entirely satisfied. Kevin apparantly lied about his reasons for leaving with Scotty. So, something must be wrong and she can't stand not knowing what that something is.... Not yet, at least.

Scotty shivers in the after-shock of his orgasm. Kevin’s lips are still on him and he can’t believe that Kevin satisfied him like this. Especially knowing that Kevin does not particularly like him coming in his mouth, but now Kevin nearly insisted on it and Scotty is not complaining… Not. At. All.

He’s aware that Kevin moves away from him and he hears the water in the bathroom running. He opens his eyes when Kevin comes back in the bedroom. And he's just in time to see the smile on Kevin’s face, when he sees Scotty’s satisfied look. Kevin climbs back on the bed and softly kisses Scotty’s belly.

“I liked it.” He says quietly.
“Not half much as I did.” Scotty replies, but Kevin shakes his head.
“It’s more the idea that I can drive you crazy like that, make you beg, and … I just love this one.” He grins, softly caressing Scotty’s now soft penis. “Can’t get enough of it.”

“I noticed.” Scotty sighs, running his fingers through Kevin’s hair as Kevin kisses his chest and moves up to his shoulder. Kevin lifts his head to gaze at Scotty’s face. Suddenly the fear of knowing that, out there somewhere, is someone who wants to hurt his handsome husband, takes over.

“I don’t know what I’d do if I would ever lose you.” Kevin bites his lip. Sensing the strange mood-change Scotty looks up at Kevin.
“Honey, why would you lose me? I’m not going anywhere. I don’t plan to leave.”
“I know.”

“What is wrong?”
“Nothing… It’s just that moments like this make me realize how important you are to me... How much I love you..”
“I love you too.” Scotty replies, giving Kevin a quick kiss, but still worrying about Kevin’s strange mood.

“I sometimes worry that we lose each other with everything that we have going on. The family troubles, …”
“…The McCallister-campaign….” Scotty points out his own biggest concern.
“…The workload at San Estephe...” Kevin reminds Scotty, making Scotty smile.

“I see what you mean.” Scotty nods. “It is a lot of hard work to keep the relationship on the right track. But as much as I sometimes want to hit your family over the head, wring Robert’s neck or throw in the towel at San Estephe, I never, ever, want to give up on you.

I married you because I want to grow old with you. And life will not always be easy, but I’m here and I’m here to stay. With you.” Scotty once again promises Kevin.
“I know. I have faith in your love… I’m just scared that…” But Kevin stops mid-sentence and grins: “Forget it. I have faith in you.” He repeats planting a firm kiss on Scotty’s lips.

Scotty hums cheerfully under the kiss, before he lets his hand slide down Kevin’s body.
“Meanwhile, I too, have something to take care off. Can’t let you suffer any longer, can I?” Scotty grins, as he lets his fingers curl around Kevin’s arousal.
“Mhmmm, now that you mention it….” Kevin moans, before Scotty silences him with a kiss.
