Summary: Kevin/Scotty drive back home after the debacle at the weekend-house
Scotty doesn’t say anything and that worries Kevin maybe even more, than if he would have yelled. Kevin looks one more time to the right, where Scotty sits next to him in the car, but Scotty looks the other way, his eyes fixed on the landscape. Kevin places his hand on Scotty’s knee, startling Scotty.
“I’m sorry…. How angry are you?” Kevin asks softly.
“Very angry. This weekend was a total disaster.”
“I know, baby, I’m sorry. I’ll make it up to you somehow.”
“You will make it up to me? Why?”
“Aren’t you angry with me?” Kevin asks surprised. “For completely ruining our weekend?”
“No, of course not, silly.” Scotty replies. “I’m furious with your family. You offer them a weekend in great house and they act like a bunch of spoiled children. Letting the secret of Ryan out of the bag was needless, especially considering that Nora didn’t want it.
I am furious with how Tommy just threw you aside, without giving you a second chance. I hate how our weekend got destroyed by secrets that I, nor you, asked for. But I’m not angry with you, honey. I know you try very hard to keep your family together and I love that about you, I try to equally forgiving, but…
… sometimes I just want to grab one sibling to hit the other with. Honestly, your family, as much as I love them, can be so infuriating.”
“I’m sorry.” Kevin can only repeat and suddenly Scotty smiles at him.
“…. But I love you. So very, very much.”
There is a shy smile on Kevin’s face suddenly, almost as if he had never expected to hear those words from Scotty and maybe, in a way, Kevin does feel he doesn’t deserve them.
However, now that Scotty said those words, he can only smile and admit:
“I love you too. You’re sensibility is what kept me sane this weekend.”
Scotty’s fingers curl around the Kevin’s fingers, still resting on his knee and he gives Kevin a little glance.
“Can’t we stop in the first motel we see and stay a few hours.”
“Shouldn’t we get home?” Kevin asks, but Scotty shakes his head.
“I can’t wait that long to give you some… comfort.” He smiles seductively and Kevin makes a growling little noise, that makes Scotty laugh out loud. When 5 minutes later Kevin pulls up on the parking of a motel, Scotty grins expectantly:
“Let’s see if we can salvage something from this terrible weekend.”
Btw: I was working on another Kevin/Scotty AU, called "Impersonal", the first chapter was posted on my other LJ: serena2000, because I personally feel it moved TOO far away from the B&S world. I remember someone asking me to share it though. So those interested can read it. BUT, I warn you, it IS different from the usual. Part 2 of that story will be up shortly.
