About "The Americans"....

Sorry, if I've been sort of flooding anyone's LJ/twitter/Facebook-account, but I wanted to update my livejournal for The Americans

They were on dreamwidth first, because I was sick and tired of all the 4 million issues I had with LJ right around New Year's day, not to mention that idiotic thing when suddenly there were ads under each post, making me count 23 ads on one page of 20 posts, which took FOREVER to load, because every ad was a 'moving' one...

But I no longer have to flood, because I'm nearly up-to-date. :) Perhaps 1 or 2 more, if the posts I found aren't copy/pasted interviews from other sites... :P

I don't know what your browser is, but I use Firefox with the AdBlock Plus add-on, and I don't see any ad. It blocks them. You can select which ones you want to block. It works really well, and saves a lot of time to charge pages, plus there's a button to disable it on a specific page in case it blocks content you actually want to see.

I use both Firefox and Internet Explorer. For me the ads are a 'necessary evil'. I'm not too bothered by them personally. Marea67 is a paid account, which 'the Americans' is linked to, so I hardly see ads at all, but right after New Year, after all the issues, with non-accessibility and such, I just clicked on the link without being logged in and got a wall of ads coming my way.

I get that if I have a free account, that ads may need to be added, but the amount of ads was just too much. Two or three is something that has become the 'normal' standard for me, but 23 on 20 posts was just too much. Sometimes the ads completely took over the post.

And though not exactlty a bother to ME, it would be for those who follow links etc and end up on my LJ.

But it's been changed back I think, because I no longer see them....

I will however check this ad-Block on Firefox. Hadn't thought of it yet. Thanks. :)
